Growing Together in Faith and Fellowship
The Wesleyville Valleyfield Pastoral Charge is more than Sunday morning worship. Our ministries and programs extend the love of God throughout the week, connecting people of all ages and providing spaces for spiritual growth, fellowship, service, and care. Whether you are a child exploring faith for the first time or a senior who has walked with the church for decades, there is a ministry here for you.
Our Ministries
Sunday School & Children’s Ministry
During Sunday morning worship, children ages 4–12 participate in their own age-appropriate program in the church hall. Through stories, crafts, song, and prayer, they explore the foundations of Christian faith in a nurturing and joyful setting.
Youth Group
Our youth group gathers teenagers in grades 7 through 12 for fellowship, faith discussion, service projects, and retreats. We provide a safe, welcoming space for young people to ask questions, build friendships, and discover what it means to live as people of faith in today’s world.
Women’s Fellowship
The Women’s Fellowship gathers regularly for study, prayer, service projects, and mutual encouragement. Rooted in the historic United Church Women’s tradition, this ministry offers a warm community where women of all ages support and inspire one another.
Men’s Group
The Men’s Group gathers for fellowship, service, and spiritual reflection in a relaxed and honest setting. Monthly gatherings rotate between breakfast discussions, work projects that benefit the congregation and community, and occasional retreats.
Seniors’ Ministry
We are committed to honouring and caring for the senior members of our congregation and community. Regular visitation, programming, and pastoral connection ensure that no one faces the later chapters of life in isolation. Our seniors are a treasured source of wisdom and faith.
Choir & Music Ministry
Music is the heartbeat of our worship, and our choir ministry leads the congregation in song each Sunday. Open to singers of all levels, the choir rehearses weekly and performs at special services throughout the year. New voices are always welcome.
Prayer Ministry
Our intercessory prayer team prays faithfully for the needs of the congregation and community. Members may submit prayer requests in confidence, and our prayer chain ensures that every request is lifted in prayer. Prayer groups meet regularly for shared intercession.
Bereavement Support
Grief is one of life’s most profound experiences, and no one should carry it alone. Our bereavement support ministry offers grief care groups, pastoral follow-up after funerals, and a network of compassionate companions who walk alongside those who mourn.
Find Your Place
Every ministry in our congregation is built by volunteers — people who give their time, talents, and love to make our church community thrive. If you feel called to serve, or simply want to connect more deeply with the congregation, we encourage you to reach out. There is a place for you here.
